About Us
Husband and Wife team James & Nicky
We are a local couple who have lived in daventry our whole lives. We have always had dogs small and large breeds who have been brought up from pups to old age growing up with our own children from the day they were born.
We are a family business and have 25 years of experience with multiple breeds from different backgrounds.
James vast experience allows him to read a dog 's body language to assess the best way to work with them to achieve the desired result.
Clients have been surprised to see how dogs naturally gravitate towards him despite having nervous tendencies.
James calm and patient demeanor allows the dogs to come to him in their own time and they become comfortable with him very quickly.
During Covid we lost one of our Rotty's to cancer.
Having left such a big hole in our family we decided to adopt another dog but a different breed. With so many dogs needing homes we decided to adopt a large breed from Bulgaria. Marley on your right. Marley is a Central Asian shepherd dog who are known for being a protective very independent breed.
Marley has become a big member of the family and works with James when we socialize young or nervous dogs due to his placid and gentle nature, they react very well with him.
We have a love of all types of breeds and will care for any breed large or small as we have facilities for both.
We have a schedule for the dogs to keep them entertained and happy whilst in our care and at the end of the day they can have snuggles on the couch with us all . If they are too big for the couch Nicky the resident cuddle hugger will be on the floor with them.
Our home is fully set up so the dogs can be fed separately to prevent food aggression and dogs from the same home can sleep together as they do in their own environment
Nervous dogs can also be catered for by allowing them to have their own space without being isolated and are introduced to other dogs gradually. We love what we do and like to ensure dogs return happy and content to their owners.
For dogs that have only ever stayed in kennels or never been away from their owners we offer a trial night where clients can call us ,face time when they like to check on their pets comfort. We also offer a pick up and drop of service for the ease of our customers.
James is truck is kitted out to travel in safety. This also allows us to take the dogs various places for walks such as the woods where the they can investigate and have fun foraging in the undergrowth or splashing in the puddles which exercises the body and stimulates the mind through the senses. We are First aid certified and carry towels clean dog bowls and first aid kits on the truck and in our home.
All of our services involve a meet and greet with clients to allow the dogs to scent us. We find it reassures owners when they see the dogs interact with us and were not strangers to the dog on the next interaction. It's a perfect opportunity to answer any questions you may also have about our services.
We are fully ensured, have DBS clearance and are Licensed by Daventry County Council. All documents can been seen upon request although we do bring copies to the meet and greet.
